I was born in 1980 in the Venetian Plain, between the lagoon of Venice and the Dolomites.
When I was a child, I used to wander around my dad’s workshop (he was a mould maker) and I was attracted by the machines he used, the way they worked and mechanics in general.
After my studies, I started to work as developer and consultant and shortly after I opened my studio with other collaborators and employees. We designed tools and moulds for the plastic injection in automotive headlights. In 2007 I opened a 3D-metal printing department that soon became one of the most appreciated services in Europe.
In order to provide full service to our clients, in 2015 I set up a mechanical workshop to mill and turn the 3D printed pieces.
While the company kept growing, in 2013 I met luthier Michele Della Giustina, and we became good friends. Michele introduced me to the guitar-making world, and I was captured by the magic of wood, its veins, the mechanical and sound characteristics. He is the one that handed down to me the building techniques of traditional string instruments.
In 2017 I started to build acoustic guitars and in 2021 I left my previous job to dedicate myself entirely to guitar-making.
I am honored to be part of this world. The pursuit of excellence and the care of every single step fascinate and belong to me. I love my job and, most of all, I love to do it well.
For my guitar models I prefer innovative and essential lines, clean design and finishes that enhance the sound and aesthetic features of the wood.
It took a full 7 years to develop the prototypes, design and internal geometry of my guitars. During this long period I focused on the product, with no commercial expectations or economic return.
The result is handcrafted and elegant guitars with an all-Italian sound. The perfectly inlaid pickguard is an eye-catching and novel innovation that gives Moro guitars a unique and inimitable character.
Well-known all over the world for its excellent sound features, the Italian Alpine Spruce is the essential ingredient for any great hand-made guitar.
The history of music has always been intertwined with and crossed our mountains from where, since time immemorial, wise and expert hands have selected the most “tuned” soundboards to make instruments with unique and exceptional sound traits.
Over the centuries, in the forests of our Alps, many piano, violin and guitar makers have selected the best soundboards to make their instruments.
Italy is home to skillful woodworkers and wise carpenters, woodcarvers and artisans that in the past century started to import many exotic varieties of wood from all over the world. For my works, I mainly use Rosewood boards that have been imported over 30 years ago, perfectly aged. An exceptional private collection at my clients’ disposal.
All the woods I use have certificates of provenance and traceability according to international CITES regulations.
As I couldn’t find anything satisfying on the market and still wanted to improve the quality standards of my instruments, I decided to make myself the tuners for my guitars with the help of great collaborators and high-tech machines, using materials and technical coatings employed in the aerospace industry. Thanks to the craftsmanship of my products, I can provide my clients a great variety of options, materials and finishing.
I am an innovative builder: I have learned the ancient techniques from one of the most expert custodian of the Italian luthier crafts and I have engineered them thanks to my long-standing experience in the precision engineering industry. In my workshop I make guitars combining both artisanal craft methods and advanced technologies, therefore solving the most critical steps in the building process. A simple groundbreaking example is the wooden pickguard completely inlaid into the soundboard.
The result is a great dimensional stability, excellent precision while assembling and an outstanding sound quality.
For the K0 and K3 models, there are three kinds of bracing to meet different needs and styles:
Each soundboard is carefully hand-crafted in every single detail. I want my instruments to be clean and nice-looking even in out-of-sight spots.
Moro guitar necks are created to ensure high stability and great tuning. They are made starting from mahogany solid wood which undergoes various steps and tests before being finally incorporated and assembled in the instrument.
All necks have carbon and titanium stabilizer bars inside and are tightly screwed to the body in a reversible way: they can be simply disassembled by unscrewing 4 screws. Therefore, it is possible to easily carry out set-up or maintenance works anytime it is needed.
